Divine Yoga with Davina - about the teacher

Divine Yoga leads us on a nurturing journey of the self helping us to eliminate stress and realise our true potential.  It is for everyone of all sizes, strengths, flexibilities and ages.

Davina began exploring yoga at the age of 21 as a way to escape and relax from the intensity of the corporate world.  Her exploration has covered the styles of ashtanga and iyengar, but her practice and teaching remain based in the hatha yoga tradition.  Davina incorporates elements of shadow yoga and is influenced by Shiva Rea's teachings.

Davina is also a passionate rock climber and mountaineer.

Hatha Yoga with Vinyasa flow - about the style

Yoga uses prana - the breath, the life force – and asanas – yoga postures – to guide us towards a state where the mind is relaxed and the body is revitalised. Asanas develop poise, balance strength and flexibility of the body. Pranayama develops breath control which enhances mental alertness and clarity.

The style is of the classes is hatha yoga with vinyasa flow.  Hatha represents the opposing energies of the sun and moon; warmth and cold; fire and water, or  yin and yang. Hatha yoga means the joining together of these energies in the subtle body thus creating balance and great power within the individual. Hatha yoga balances and purifies the mind and body through asanas, pranayama, relaxation and meditation.

Vinyasa means breath synchronised movement, so you move on an inhale or exhale of the breath. Expect movement and flowing classes, not just stretching.
